Using Multiplication Strategies

WALT: use a variety of multiplication strategies to solve problems

I was able to
Use PVP to solve multiplication problems by
  • Expanding numbers (PV)
  • Add 2 or 3 digit numbers
  • Knowing my basic facts
  • Splitting numbers
  • understand how pvp works
  • Use brackets when I am solving the problem
Use doubling and halving by
  • Know your basic facts (multiplication)
  • How to double and half
  • You have to half the even numbers
  • You always have to double one number and half the other number.
  • You can halve the bigger number and double the smaller number
Use rounding and compensating
  • Basic facts - 2x, 5x, 10
  • Addition and subtraction
  • Know what a tidy numbers is ends in 0
  • When you are compensating you have to do the opposite of what you did at the beginning.

Next time I will try my best to use neat and tidy soldiers when I'm recording my math in my book or white board and I could start multiplying by 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers and decimals.

Anzac Day Facts

WALT: Find and summarise information by choosing the most important information in a text and linking it back to the topic

I was able to find and summarise information by choosing the most important information in a text and then linking it back to the topic, by reading the text and summarising it to put back in our slide even though I found it a little tricky.

Next time I will...try my best to find and summarise more information in the text.
